Job Summary:
Islamic Center of Santa Ana (ICSA) is seeking a qualified and dedicated Religious Director to provide Islamic religious guidance, leadership, and
support to the Santa Ana Muslim Community manage with diverse multi-ethnic, multi-lingual. The Religious Director will play a pivotal role in unifying the Muslim community in Santa Ana and throughout the State of California by adhering to the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad.
Responsibilities:
· Provide religious guidance for matrimonial (Nikah officiate marriages) and divorce matters to families in need and conduct Janazah (funerals) for the community members
· Deliver original inspiring Khutbahs on Friday prayer and Eids
· Foster spiritual growth by developing and teaching educational programs and activities
· Participate in the evaluation and selection of qualified teachers and speakers.
· Engage in DA’WAH forums and establish positive relationships with diverse groups and communities.
· Represent the community as a speaker on religious affairs to the broader Santa Ana community.
· Develop and implement educational programs for the Quranic weekend school
· Provide authoritative interpretations (Fatwas) of the Quran and Sunnah as needed
· Prepare and manage an annual Ramadan program that is inspiring and uplifting
· Collaborate with the Religious Committee and Executive Board of Directors on annual fundraising programs.
· Provide counsel to the Religious Committee and Executive Board of Directors on all religious occasions and events.
· Plan and execute Religious Director’s activities, keeping the Executive Board informed
· Advocate exclusively for ICSA while on duty and be a team player and back up the executive director, as needed
Required Qualifications:
· Master’s degree or equivalent with credentials in Shariah (in Islamic Jurisprudence) or related fields from an accredited or highly recognized Islamic institution.
· Hafiz or memorizer of select parts of the Quran, demonstrating mastery of Tajwid rules for accurate recitation and teaching purposes.
· Fluency in both English and Arabic languages (oral and written).
· Moderate proficiency in computer literacy.
Work Experience:
· Proven ability to lead Salah in various Majids and contribute to building Muslim communities.
· Experience in teaching and presenting the Quran, Hadith, and the Sunnah of the Prophet.
· Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by Muslim youth in a non-Muslim environment.
· Delivering teachings and offering holistic religious counsel to the entire community.
Routine Activities:
· The Religious Director is expected to present daily and fulfill ICSA duties as required
· Opportunities for professional growth and development within the organization

· The contract may be terminated by mutual consent upon thirty (30) days of written notice by either party to the other
· This position is initially offered for a duration of 2 years, with the possibility of negotiation for renewal, contingent upon performance, following a 6-month assessment period and subsequent annual reviews.

· The director can take off 2 weeks without pay during hajj season
· He is entitled for 2 weeks for personal off per year (PTO) and sick-leave
Employee Salary:
· The board offer a base salary of compensation with a form of 1099’s
· The payment should be issued in semi-monthly; first paycheck is on the 15th and 2nd paycheck is at the end of the month.
· The salary should be negotiable and open for review on a period of 12 months (yearly review)

The Islamic Center of Santa Ana’s (ICSA) was established by a dozen Muslim families who escaped from war-ravaged Vietnam and Laos and the killing fields of Cambodia to the U.S. in search of new lives and religious freedom in the early 1980. In the early days, it was known as the Indo-Chinese Muslim Refugee Association. After 35 years, the community yearned for a larger facility and parking spaces. After many years of searching, ICSA’s leadership finally bought an abandoned building located at 1610 E. 1 st Street, Santa Ana with a price tag of $2.6 million dollars.
